For someone who has never made the oil, I have questions about this recipe.
How much of the plant is needed to soak? What size container do you soak it in? What is the steamer for?
Thank you.

Sylvieann,
The steamer/double boiler is just used to melt the bees wax and oil together. It's used so the wax is not over direct heat helping it to not burn/boil. The starting oil for the ointment can be RS Hemp oil.
If thats not available to you, you can make 'this' easy to make cannabis oil...from either buds, or trim from the plant. You will yield at least 2x's as much THC extract from Bud vs. trim.(Hence once diltuled with Seed oil/olive oil, Bud oil would be twice as potent as Trim oil) You would put dry material in glass container (Big enough to hold material.) Add enough hemp-seed oil/oilive oil to cover/saturate starting material. There is no set amount; just what you have. The better the buds the better your oil. This oil will be a 'diluted' version of the RS hemp oil. Good for masage, aching pains, joints muscles, skin infections, other. If you used PURE RS Hemp oil and combined just enough bees wax to get an ointment consistancy, it 'should' still have the same healing capabilities of the oil in its original form. If making a 'diluted' version of the oil, it will spread on larger area, but of coarse more will need to be applied to achieve desired effect. The oil in it's original state can be thick, and almost hard. It would be impossible to spread over a large area without mixing it in something. Here is the link with picts...
http://www.treatingyourself.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=235669#post235669
Expected Yield (Using Trim/sugar leaves)
Cannabis Leaf approx. 1gm of extract per 1oz (30g) of leaf
Be aware! There are always exceptions to this standard and Head is another story altogether.
However 1oz leaf soak in 1 lt. of solvent = 1gm of thc extract in each 1lt, to make it twice as strong, use 2 oz. of leaf to1lt of solvent which = 1gm thc to 500ml etc

This just seems a lil' weird to me. Why would one use a cannabin suave for Rheumatoid arthritis. I could understand for Osteoarthritis, maybe, i guess, but man, just eat it. I have this illness and without cannabis my life would be waaaaaaaaaay crappy. Cannabis is an amazing anti-inflammatory.
Eat it all! Eat the veg leaves! Eat the flowers eat seeds! Eat it in any form you can, as often as you can, and of the best quality you can conjure up. (Under your doctors guidance if possible, of course) Think 'whole plant' therapy.
I can't imagine putting cannabin on anything topically, that wasn't ailing topically. Not when someone who is sick can eat it.
Oh and this is very important, stop all taking all cox-2 inhibitors when using cannabis for medicine. From what I understand, pharmaceutical anti-inflammatories prevent cannabis from providing you all the medicinal benefits it can. Just search cox-2 inhibitors and cannabis or cannabinoids on Pub Med and you see what I'm saying.
I do appreciate the recipe for suave though. I wonder how this would do on chicken pox, herpes, eczema and shingles and the like. I have eczema I may try it but i just think the plant is so amazing when ingested and I only get my hands on so much. In fact, since I have begun eating cannabis my skin is in pretty good condition in general. Obviously this is due to lack of stress, and the added nutrition and cannabinoids in my system from adding cannabis to my diet.
Recently I read something about using cannabis root as a herbal remedy. I may look into that.

A lady I work with got rid of a portion of her psoriasis by applying the oil. She ran out before it was completely healed. She has no money to buy the oil to complete the healing. She was excited to see her real skin again.
Thanks for the info. on the rheumatoid arthritis. I am trying to get the oil for my brother, but am low on funds. He is on so much hydrocodone and morphine that I am afraid it is going to kill him. He is growing his own plants, so maybe he can start eating the leaves soon.

Hi Jointgirl. Thanks for posting the recipe for cannabis ointment. I was wondering if you know of any adverse interactions with prescription meds? I want to make this for my mother who is in severe pain from a herniated disc/osteoporosis/arthritis. I have never used hemp and have no idea where to find it, but I will find it somewhere because I do believe it may help her. I have been trying to get her to agree to try the oil or smoke it for a while but she is afraid to try it. I was thinking that I could just send her the ointment and she won't know it's hemp. But I don't want to cause her any problems with the other meds she's taking (Percoset for one...not sure what else).
LMK, thanks!

As far as I know, just make sure she is not allergic to anything she might be putting on topically (if shes allergic to bee's you wouldnt want to use the bees wax as your base.) I have only spoke with 1 person who's used this ointment. He used it on his mothers breast to help cure her breast cancer- and this was a few years before he ever heard of Rick Simpson. Hope this helps.
Happy Healing

Thanks for the information, JointGirl. I started investigating the hemp oil cure for cancer after I was diagnosed and treated for breast cancer. I am trying to decide if I should stop taking Tamoxifen and then if the cancer comes back, treating it with hemp oil, but I am scared. Did your friend's mother have success treating her bc with cannabis ointment?
I don't think my mother is allergic to bees but OMG I would never forgive myself if something I gave her caused her any worse pain or other issues.

Atam,
Here is a link to the thread Posted by Radic, a member of TreatingYourself.com
http://www.treatingyourself.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=32923
He used the ointment on his Mom, starting the Day the spots were discovered. An exploritory surgery was scheduled for the following month. According to Radic, his mom applied the ointment to her entire breast 4 times a day for a month. The following month, the spots were gone, and NO Exploritory Surgery! They have never returned. He is VERY Educated in the Cannabis Area, and he is FULL of great Remedies and recepies! He used this ointment on his Mom a few years before he ever heard of Rick Simpson. Hope thhis helps.
You have to remember, and understand that when using the THC/Cannabis/Marijuana as a medicine, you are using the SAFEST, OLDEST KNOWN MEDICINE! There is NO MEDICINE that is safer! There are NO risk of overdosing to the point of hamful effects. PAIN is NOT a side effect of THC. Actually, its the opposite and actually a GREAT pain-reliever. Keep Confident, and filled with Positive Energy as this will be easily picked up on by Moms! I have my fingers crossed, and Hands Folded, Praying you find some answers and your Moms finds comfort in her recovery!
Happy Healing,

Atam yes you should stop taking Tamoxifen forthwith. It has never helped anybody, it causes uterine and ovarian cancer in the long run on top of a host of other bad side effects.
Do yourself a favor and come off it.

Cannabis\hashish\marihuana\pot,variety nomenclature undergone.Cnnabis is a potent analgesic and now proven to be anti-cancer agent too.Cannabis takes us to a feeling of 'high',then drifting to peaceful and drowsy state of hallucination. Its used as pain relievers in acute and chronic pain conditions. After their prolonged struggles of pain ,the patients settle themselves to feel comfortable with cannabis. One herbal cannabis cigar smoked every thirty minutes usually relieves the pain to a manageable level within two hours. You can make own preparations with dry or crushed cannabis leaves and ethanol in a amber colored bottle with tight lid.Fill ethanol till full, and shake the bottle.Use after thirty six hours.
